Meet your Chiropodist
Minoo Shakibai, D.Ch., D.O.
Registered Chiropodist & Osteopath
Minoo Shakibai provides chiropody foot care from a foundation built at the Michener Institute in 2000. She has continually pursued the best techniques to treat foot problems — expanding her studies to osteopathy to further understand the body's effects on its foundation: feet.
She has been certified in Foot Mobilisation Technique (FMT) since 2014 and graduated as an Osteopath in 2015. She specialises in manual therapy that treats muscles, joints, the nervous and lymphatic systems, as well as general alignment of the body.
Focusing on Pediatric Osteopathy has allowed her to provide preventative care in babies and treat any problems before they leave a lasting effect. Osteopathic treatments use very gentle manual therapy that relieves pressure and tension in the cranium and the rest of the body.

Treatments
Comprehensive chiropody care, tailored to you
From the unique Foot Mobilisation Technique to custom orthotics and pediatric osteopathy — Dufferin Foot Clinic offers a wide range of treatments designed to restore your comfort and mobility.
Foot Mobilisation Technique
A manual therapy that corrects joint misalignment in the feet — addressing heel pain, ankle pain, arch pain, bunions, and hammer toes, as well as related knee, hip, back, neck, and shoulder symptoms. Pain relief without medication, injections, or surgery.
Custom Orthotics
Thorough biomechanical assessment and 3D plaster cast impression of the foot. Prescribed to address heel pain, arch pain, foot fatigue, pressure spots, and to protect diabetic and arthritic feet.
Diabetic Foot Care
Diabetes limits the body's ability to fight off infections in the extremities. Professional monitoring and preventive foot care helps protect your feet from the complications of diabetes.
Flat Feet
Assessment and treatment where the longitudinal arch is not properly developed. Flat feet can cause pronation, ankle lean, and pain in the foot, ankle, or lower leg — evaluated and managed by a registered Chiropodist.
Fungal Nails
Treatment for nail fungus (onychomycosis) that leaves nails thick, ragged, and dull. Thrives in damp environments such as public showers, gyms, and pools.
Pediatric Osteopathy
Very gentle manual therapy for babies and children. Treats lower extremities dysfunction and birth-related issues before they leave a lasting effect — preventative care at the earliest opportunity.
Signature speciality
Foot Mobilisation Technique (FMT)
A combination of FMT and specific foot exercises improves the function and realignment of joints in the feet. Realignment helps patients become pain-free without medication, injection or surgery — treating not just the foot, but related pain in the knee, hip, back, neck, and shoulders.

Common questions about foot care
At Dufferin Foot Clinic, we are committed to educating our patients about the best ways to care for their feet.
- Pay attention to what your feet are telling you. Simple exercises like running can put thousands of pounds of impact on your feet throughout your workout. Speak to a Chiropodist about the best ways to care for your feet while exercising — especially before starting a new programme.
- Never ignore foot pain. Inspect your feet regularly and watch for colour and temperature changes or any cuts or cracks in your skin. Trim your toenails properly, always wash your feet, and wear shoes that fit well. Speak to a Chiropodist before starting any home remedies.
- If you notice changes in the skin or nails of your feet, severe scaling, cracking or peeling, blisters on any part of your feet, or constant pain in your ankles or feet — call a Chiropodist as soon as possible.
- No. Our services are not covered by OHIP. However, many extended health insurance plans do cover registered Chiropodist visits. We recommend checking your plan before your appointment.
